Cardi B Debuts Blue Wig That Matches Her Manicure

Cardi B may have baby-proofed her trademark long nails for newborn daughter, Kulture, but her new hairstyle is still all Bardi. Last night, she took to Instagram to debut a new, blue wig that looks so perfect on her you’d swear she was born with aqua hair. The look is pin-straight with parted side bangs, all finished off with a cute top knot. Even better, she matched her new-and-improved “short” (for her) nails to the turquoise shade.

The wig is a custom creation from HYM Hair, designed by hairstylist Cliff Vmir, who gave behind-the-scenes details on Instagram. It turns out there are at least six inches of length that didn’t make it into Cardi’s own post, because this wig reaches well past her waist. Vmir shared the entire process of custom-creating the wig, from choosing a dye (Kiss Color, for the record), to mixing the colors, to dyeing the wig, to fitting it onto Cardi.

Clearly, she couldn’t wait to show off the new look — Vmir seems to have finished it on Wednesday, and it was on Cardi’s feed (and on display to her more than 29 million followers) by Wednesday night.

Vmir credits styling Cardi’s hair with earning him his “first million.” As he explained to Rolling Out, “I like to take the stress away from my clients when it comes to their hair,” he said. “They know that when they sit in my chair, they don’t have to worry about a thing because they trust my instincts and creative direction when it comes to their hair. All of my work — whether it’s a custom unit or a sew-in, has that certain distinct, clean, sleek look. You know when someone has had that VMir experience when you see it.” Cardi, as we can all see, has definitely had the VMir experience.

Now watch Cardi B’s makeup artist break down some of her best looks:
