Coco Austin Gets Slammed By Mommy-Shamers For Posting Video Of Her Toddler Getting A Manicure

Another day, another mom to be shamed — or at least, that’s how the internet can feel sometimes. Now it’s celebrity mom Coco Austin who is in hot water for taking her toddler out for a “mommy and me” manicure.

She and husband Ice-T have an adorable 2-year-old daughter named Chanel. Like many little girls, Chanel loves to play dress-up and paint her nails.

On February 6, 2018, Coco posted a video of her daughter getting her nails done at a salon (she also posted photos to Chanel’s Instagram). “Chanel has been doing her nails since she was 18 months old but usually sits on my lap,” she wrote in the caption. “She loves going to the salon and is always good about sitting still.”

Most of the comments on Coco’s Instagram are positive, but there were quite a few strangers who felt the need to mommy-shame Coco for letting her daughter go to a salon.

“Are you aware of all the toxins that are entering her body through nail polish?” one stranger wrote. Others said that Chanel is just simply “too young” to be getting her nails done.

Many of Coco’s fans came to her defense and said she was a loving mom to her toddler and thought the “mommy and me” date was precious.

The unsolicited advice doesn’t seem to have affected the mom, and she has yet to respond to the haters. Check out the video below to see the footage the mom took at the salon.
